Fun, Inclusive, Great Vibe
-
The event was so well organised and this was my first ever event, everyone I came in contact with whether villagers, runners, walkers or volunteers were incredibly kind, supportive and uplifting, everyone spoke to everyone and everyone was encouraging to each other.
-
There was one element that was quite an aggressive descent and so navigating that when 46K in just meant I had to keep a focus, but still loved it.
-
I would absolutely recommend this race to anyone but it is a great introduction to ultra running.
Whilst the route is undulating, it is not super aggressive, the scenery was beautiful and so great as a first event - which it was for me.
-
I took all the pressure off myself and just had 3 goals - get to event day injury free, have fun and finish injury free. Mission accomplished!
If this is a first event and you are looking to “run” it, having a run coach like James with me was priceless as he ensured I wasn’t running too hard and too often.
He kept me building that base which gave me the confidence when it came to event day that I could complete it without any issue. -
This was my first ultra and my first experience running at this distance.
I had a blast, I did train hard and working with James and being disciplined with my training both in the gym and with the running most definitely ensured I stayed injury free.
