The bike course is pretty tough. Four times up Broomfield Hill was a killer and the long drag up to Richmond Gate wasn’t easy either. But the descents are good fun! If it’s a hot day (it was), you’ll need to think about hydration, especially when on the bike so that you’re ready to run again.

      - Don’t go out too hard on the 10k especially as it’s uphill. Go as hard as you can on the bike and then hang on for the 5k.
- Tape gels to your bike frame so you can easily eat them while cycling. Also fuel as you would for a marathon.
- Don’t rely on getting drinks on the course unless you ready to stop to drink them. Paper cups are very hard to drink from especially when cycling.
- Buy a race belt for your number and bring something to make holes in it so it easily clips on.

A really well organised event, with lots of info for newbies to the format. It’s not an easy course, but it’s a lovely place to do it.
