2024 was the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Marathon with great celebrations and party atmosphere.

The start pens were a bit chaotic and runners were starting in pens well above their pace which meant congestion and having to pass people for most of the race.

First marathon or a nice weekend away. Berlin is a super fun city and very easy to get around. The course and conditions generally support a PB.

Don’t be conservative on your race time on the entry. Order the poncho, the drop bag process can be time consuming on race morning.

You get free public transport for the weekend with your race entry which is a nice touch.
